Frankie & Nathaniel-Brooklyn Bridge-Engagement

Frankie and Nathaniel sent me a message on Sunday morning to meet them in DUMBO on Washington Street. I could not even being to process what DUMBO was (besides what I remember of my childhood, it was a flying elephant). As I was heading over there from Battery Park, I was wondering what I would see. Well, my friends, if you have not been to DUMBO, it is a must go and a must see. DUMBO stands for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. It was simply stunning and there were plenty of tourists there to let me know this was not a “new” spot. It is a busy one way cobblestone street but we waited it out as cars came and went. What a great spot to start our engagement session.

As Nathaniel and Frankie became more comfortable with being infront of the camera, we moved up to the Brooklyn Bridge, on Sunday, September 11th. I did not think too much of it, I was trying not to think about that day in history actually,… but as we approached the bridge, there were 2 men starting their walk from the Brooklyn side of the bridge to where the new Freedom Tower now stands. They were carrying the american flag, a world trade center flag and they both were wearing (what I assumed to be) their rescuer hats. It was stunning.

We finished our session and all of our walking down in the subway, Bryant Park and Grand Central. What a beautiful afternoon with two people very much in love. I can’t wait to photograph their July 2017 wedding!
