Amber & Mike’s Miracle Babies- IVF & Surrogacy Journey!

Yah! A happy update from a very special couple with a very special set of twins with VERY different birthdays! Amber & Mike’s story about how they got to where they are now…. happy, sleepless and beyond emotional about the beautiful gifts they have been given!

OR- you can read on in this blog to see how Amber & Mike have ended up with 2 healthy, miracle babies- …. One beautiful baby girl (from her final attempt at IVF, after having 9 failed attempts) that Amber carried almost full term and a baby boy that their friend Cindy (Surrogate & best friend) carried full term for them! I am honored and blessed to call these two beautiful women my friends and I am so happy that I was chosen to document this incredible journey! No matter what, you should take away from this,… don’t ever, ever give up hope!

In mom (Amber’s) words:

“Our 2 miracles! I don’t think we will ever have the right words to express our pure love and happiness that we are not a family of 4, plus our 2 chocolate labs!

Rayleigh was born 7 weeks early (May 16th) after my water broke at 28 weeks. We spent 5 long weeks together on hospital bed rest. Each day was filled with coloring, thinking, TV watching and routine nurses visits to check vitals. Mike and I were so happy that she waited so long to make her appearance. Rayleigh spent 26 days in the NICU before we were allowed to check her out and bring her home for the first time. While we were home, we were patiently awaiting the arrival of her twin brother, not due until July 4th, 2016.

Our amazing surrogate, Cindy, carried our beautiful baby boy, Brody. Brody was born exactly 7 weeks and 2 days after his twin sister on July 6th. Brody spent 14 days in the NICU dealing with some unexplained transitional issues. Once we were able to take him home, we spent our first day home all together- as new parents of TWINS!

July 20th is a day Mike and I surely will not forget! We could not be more excited (and exhausted) to have these two beautiful, miracle children, home. We are so grateful for everyone’s support and prayers throughout this challenging, eventful and amazing time of our lives. We are looking forward to watching these babies grow into amazing people. Life is truly full of miracles!”

Here are some of my favorite images from their in-home session. Brody is almost 3 months and Rayleigh is 4 months old <3 I can’t wait to continue to document them growing!
