Amber & Mike’s IVF and Surrogacy Journey

**this is a follow up post to the surrogacy and IVF announcement I posted on my blog HERE titled “Amber & Mike’s little miracles” back in January**

Amber and Mike are expecting twins that were due to arrive around July 4th, a baby boy that her best friend Cindy is carrying and she is caring a baby girl (this was Amber’s last attempt at IVF- which worked & at the same time her friend offered to be a surrogate for her).

Amber and Cindy’s pregnancy’s were progressing well, we had a June maternity session planned until just a few weeks ago. Amber was at recess with her students when her water broke at 28 weeks and 4 days. She was rushed to the hospital and put on bed rest for the remainder of the her pregnancy. She is monitored once a day and all of her levels are constantly checked. Amber and baby girl Scalzo are doing well and the baby continues to grow and grow each day. Plan is right now to keep monitoring the baby and possibly induce in a few weeks. Making this twin story even more crazy! Cindy is doing well carrying baby boy Scalzo and looks stunning too! Amber and Mike are amazed and thankful for their friends Sean and Cindy and their amazing generosity. Cindy is still due on July 4th and besides baby boy Scalzo being really active, he is doing great!

I met up with them at the hospital to photograph their maternity session. There is a beautiful courtyard that the nurses were able to give us access too. Gabi, from Christie and Company, traveled to the hospital to do Amber’s hair and makeup before her session. It’s amazing to find great people in this world to help make someone feel beautiful in otherwise not-so-ideal conditions. I can’t thank Gabi enough for making the trip & Amber looked, and felt, stunning! After Amber’s session was over, I snapped a few pictures for an inside look to Amber & Mike’s hospital life right now. She is able to walk the halls only twice a day and she spends most of her time coloring. Her and Mike would and are doing anything they can for their baby girl and enjoying a few more weeks of the quietness before the two babies arrive.

These twins will definitely have different birthdays and this makes their story even more unique! Amber and Mike can’t wait to meet their baby boy and their baby girl! Please keep their family in your thoughts and prayers…. you can leave a message on this blog too if you’d like!

….and for you reading this out there- don’t ever give up hope or lose sight of you finish line! Miracles really do happen <3
